The USEPA method 506 is an analytical method that utilizes a methylene chloride or liquid-solid extraction of drinking water, concentrated after clean-up to 1 mL in hexane and a gas chromatograph equipped with a capillary column to perfrom the sepation ofphthalate and adipate esters. To detect the GC eluant, a photoionization detector (PID) is used.
