The USEPA method 612 is an analytical method which utilizes a methylene chloride extraction of municipal or industrial wastewater, concentrated after clean-up to 1-mL (in hexane) and a gas chromatograph equipped with a packed column to perform theseparation of Chlorinated Hydrocarbons. To detect the GC eluant, an electron capture detector (ECD) is used.
